like a G6!

2011 would be a year that has flown super fast.
At least for me.

It's the year I completed my M.Ed.
The same year I visited the beautiful Seoul, met Ruhil there and bought to much facial masks.
The year my parents performed Haj.
The year I watched almost 20 different movies at cinemas and three great theatres at Istana Budaya and Westlife live.
And also the year I stayed jobless until late November.

So probably because I wasn't working that I felt they year went by too fast than I could catch up.
But I still had such a great time not working.
LOL!
Looking back at my 2011 planner, I'm happy that almost every column is filled up. This means I have fully used the days of 2011.

My resolution for 2012 is no more resolution.
I just hope my family and friends are blessed by Allah with happiness and joy forever, not just in 2012.
And hopefully everyone would start using shopping bags everyday instead of Saturdays only.

Anyway,
happy new year people!
Can't wait to use my new planner!
Yay!

my joongi. again. ;)

Oh dear Allah,
if he's the one for me then please lead me the way. If he's not meant for me then please lead me far away from him.
He's a nice guy and a good friend but why does my heart still feels empty?
I'm not sure what's stopping me but he's really a good guy and I don't want him hurt. I've been trying to accept
us but my heart can't lie.
I'm still waiting for my heart to skip a beat everytime I meet him. So far no butterflies nor goosebumps felt, there's only confusion.

Oh dear God,
guide me.
Please...

BR: TonyMoly Tomatox Magic White Massage Pack

Wanna know the best way to call it a day?
Slapping facial mask and lie down for 15-20 minutes which are probably the most relaxing minutes of the entire day.
Sheet mask is probably the best invention of the beauty world! It’s super easy to use, always smell nice and it makes my skin energized and plumpy. I used to wear sheet mask once a week as it’s a bit expensive to be worn everyday. That was probably a reason why I bought almost a hundred of sheet masks during my trip to Seoul.
Honestly, Korean beauty houses certainly know that girls love everything cute!
Just look at TonyMoly Tomatox Magic White Massage Pack, super adorable! It’s a jar shaped like a tomato with bright red color and this is one of the brand’s best seller products. Seriously, who can walk past this and not buy one???
Anyway, to be frank, I bought this mainly because of the cute jar. I don’t really need a whitening mask as I already have a medium fair skin tone but to tell you the truth, no masks can actually ‘whiten’ your skin tone. It may help to brighten your complexion and dark spots but it can never ever change anyone’s skin tone, trust me. It takes more than a mere facial mask to transform the presence of your skin melanin.
I lifted the lid and a small transparent spoon dropped which is another reason to love this product. Usually they wont provide any kind of spatulas to scoop out the mask which can be very unhygienic if you scoop with fingers. I removed the safety lid and, well, was a bit disappointed because the mask is white in colour. I was hoping for it to be orange- or red-ish like real tomatoes. The plastic box provides instructions in both Korean and English but if you don’t understand both, not to worry, as demonstration pictures are also included.

TonyMoly Tomatox Magic White Massage Pack, 80g.
How to use:
On a damp clean face, lightly massage the mask in circular motions for 1-2mins. I always cleanse my face with my facial cleanser and just pat my face clean to make sure it’s still damp, not dry, before putting on mask. This helps your skin to be less irritated by any mask youre using. The mask doesn’t smell like tomatoes and Im not quite sure how to describe the smell but it doesn’t sting my nose. It also doesn’t tingle my skin. Leave the mask for 10mins and wipe it off with a facial sponge, using lukewarm water before rinsing with cold water. I don’t usually leave mask longer than instructed because im worried that my skin may have bad reaction towards the product.
The aftermath?
My skin definitely appears brighter and feels very clean but the brightening effect doesn’t stay long. It does nothing to my pores or pimples but my skin does feel plumpy. I’d wear this before important event as it’s a good exfoliator and preps my skin well before wearing make up.
Try it?
If you want a brighter complexion for important events, yes, you should really buy this! It works well as exfoliator too.
Cons?
I would love it better if it smells and looks like the real tomato. LOL!

spell "spell" please...

God I hate it when I have spelling trouble in class.
I'd feel like such a dimwit.
Sometimes writing on the board makes words look as if they're misspelled. Seriously.
Guess I can't handle confusion well.

I just love Barney Stinson.
He's hilarious to the core and his brutal honesty is what made him such a good friend that everyone needs to have one.
He's like a friend girls need to have so he can warn us not to fall for a guy like him. LOL!
The show "How I Met Your Mother" has really become one of my favourite series of all time! I can watch reruns for hundreds of times and still roll on the floor laughing each time!
If you're feeling and you need a good hearty laugh then this is the perfect show for you.
It's super AWESOME!

LOL!

I am not quite sure why I find this super hilarious!

the sand between my toes & those feelings i get as the waves tease my feet...

I'm not really a beach fan, I'd rather go hiking.
I honestly don't think I can just sit by the beach and do nothing. I'd probably die out of boredom.
Nevertheless, I get the same feelings everytime my feet touch the sand on the beach. I feel calm the moment my feet sink into the warm tiny granules and the smell of seawater is surprisingly very soothing.
God's creations are the greatest. Subhanallah.

I may have just started working but I seriously want a holiday!

i chose the road less travelled...

Or is it not?

I’m hired, finally. I'm now working at a public university in Melaka and it has been 2 weeks since I first started teaching. Am I happy here? Well, Alhamdulillah for the rezeki He gave me but as usual, there are always things that make me go erghh..

You see, the coordinator called me on a Thursday, asking me to come over for an interview the next day. I went to her office on Friday and she straightaway gave me my teaching timetable and explained a few things about the subject. In other words, she didn’t even give me time to think over the job offer. In short, they're desperate and in need of lecturers. So I guessed I didn’t have a way out and went to work the next Monday. I was even too shocked to say anything!

Well the first few days, of course weren’t all happy and flowery. Even though I used to study here for a year for my pre-degree, so many things have changed especially the new buildings and community. And the coordinator being not friendly isn’t helping at all. I was hoping someone would give me a map of the campus! Luckily I've a friend working here and she helped me a lot. We used to be classmates when we did our bachelor degree and seeing a familiar face really reduce my anxiety.

So far classes went well and my first year students are doing fine too. They're still fresh out of schools and some still call me ‘teacher’. I really don’t mind being called a teacher, I am a teacher anyway. The only downside so far is the salary. Well, can't say much when you're working with the government. *sigh*

Anyway, I believe I'm happier working here as I'm close to my family. I feel blessed to be able to ask for my parents blessings every morning before leaving for work. Nothing beats having your family around even though I sometimes crave for IKEA meatballs or William’s cheese naan but coming home and knowing there are people waiting for you to come home is definitely more fulfilling than William’s Vanilla Pavlova Trifle. Eh, really?

Dayyyyyyum!

two roads diverged in a yellow wood...

*The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost*

It's funny how I'm always reminded of this poem every time I'm torn between two choices.
Other than performing solat istikharah for Allah's guidance, this poem helps me to think over which 'road' I should take.
At the moment I'm very torn over where to work at, either in Melaka or around Selangor.
As accommodation isn't a problem, it's more of where my heart is.

If I decided to work in Melaka, it'll be good because I'm close with my family which is the biggest plus point. I get homesick a lot when I'm away so staying close with my family is probably, hands down, the only reason I need to make me work in Melaka.
Other than that, I believe I could save more because there's no toll and everywhere is considered near here.
Even though I know I'd be missing my close friends who live in Selangor, I could just visit them once a month over the weekends. Selangor is just about 1 1/2 hours from Melaka anyway.
Another downside? Maybe I'll be having less social life as my close friends are all far away and there's not much great shopping malls here. Hehehe...

If I decided to work in Selangor, the pros and cons would just be the opposite of the above reasons.
Oh dear...

You know, sometimes I wish I could just be a housewife or work from home or just teach tuition classes a few hours a week.
I really don't mind doing laundry and cooking, I'm accustomed to that by now.
My mom is a housewife since she got married to my dad. Although she said it can be very boring to stay at home, as a child it feels really different. Nothing beats my mom's cooking and knowing that she takes care of everything very well makes me more appreciative and we grow closer. Mom used to pick me up from school and I would tell her everything about school as soon as I hopped into the car. I even told her about my high school crushes and we would just laugh along.
I'm not sure if I'm working I would have time to really listen to my children as I'm marking students' papers. I guess I've to sharpen my multitasking skills from now.

On a second thought, I guess I should get a boyfriend first.
*sigh*

BR: Etude House Moistfull Massage Mask

My close friend asked me this question one fine day over ice-cream,
"What do you miss most about Korea?"
Other than strolling along Nami Island, the next thing that popped into my mind was the beauty houses they have along Myeondong and Insadong.
Seriously.
I remember walking into each beauty house and bought, well, at least 5 pieces of sheet masks because they're too cheap it'd be a sin not to buy and bring home.
And now that I have seven different BB Creams and too many different types of facial masks, I decided to share the experience here.
This blog could soon turn into my beauty diary!
(*_*)

*this is only 1/2 of what me and my sisters bought in Seoul. such collateral damage during holidays!*

Among the beauty houses in Seoul include Etude House, The Face Shop, Skin Food, Nature Republic, Missha, Tony Moly, Laneige, It's Skin and many more.
The first four are already launched in Malaysia with branches all over Malaysia.
While it's not fair to compare prices, it's a fact that products are at least 1/2 price cheaper in Korea. So basically if you're visiting Korea and you're using the products, better stock up! Why not kill two birds with a stone, right? ;)

Anyway, I'm thinking of doing reviews on some beauty products such as masks, BB Cream and maybe some cosmetics.
But as I don't really wear much cosmetics, most of the reviews would probably be on masks and skin care. Hope it'll help you girls to decide if you wanna start using them too. =)
Here's a picture of my facial masks collection:
I didn't include sheet masks because they're too variety.
As you can see, those 5 packets were free samples I got when I shopped at beauty houses in Seoul. They were very generous with free samples.
I was first told about the free samples by Ruhil before we went out shopping on my fourth day in Seoul. I wasn't prepared to shop for beauty products during holidays until she told me this and boy, she's so right! I could not not walk pass beauty houses and not entering them!
Super addictive I tell you!

Back to mask review, there's a variety of facial masks. There are tube, jar and sheet masks, some are peel off or washed or can be left all night while you're sleeping.
The first mask I wanna share would be a sleeping mask.

Etude House Moistfull Massage Mask, 180gm.
I forgot how much it cost back in Seoul but the retail price here is probably above RM40.
This is actually a 3-in-1 mask where it can be used as sleeping mask, massage mask where you massage the gel on your face for about 2-3mins and a normal 10-20mins mask. This is to be washed off after the proposed time.
The gel is peach-y colour and smells really nice and sweet. I always smell beauty products which I don't know why or how it has become a habit.
Now, masks in jar or tub can be a bit unhygienic as you'd have to dip your fingers to scoop out the products.
I can be a very hygiene freak when it comes to stuff I put on my face so I always scoop out the products using a spatula into a clean mask bowl.
I used a mask brush to spread the gel evenly onto my face.
The mask was really super cooling and didn't sting or burn my skin at all. I put a thick layer as I wanted to make it a sleeping mask.
Then I dozed off....

Well, except for a problem, I could hardly sleep that night!
It was my first time wearing sleeping mask and I guess I got too anxious and conscious about the gel got stuck on my pillow. And I forgot to tie my hair that I got a few strands stuck in my face.
I then decided I'm not a sleeping mask person.
Thank goodness it's a 3-in-1 mask so after this I would just use it as a normal 10-20mins mask.

The aftermath?
My skin felt very moist and plump-y. I could not stop touching my face which is another bad habit I'm starting to develop after wearing facial mask =))
Try it?
Definitely. Especially if you have dry or combination skin. I've a combination skin, by the way.
As I have other masks, I alternate them every other day. It's important to be discipline on wearing masks in order to see and feel the result.
Cons?
Well, it is only to moisturize skin. Other than that, it doesn't really do wonders to my humongous pores and dark spots.
Remember...
-to wash your face squeaky clean beforehand.
-to apply eye cream and lip balm before slapping the mask.
-to do a test on your neck to check if your skin is sensitive with the products.

More mask reviews coming up!

my edible foodstuff - Sheperd's Pie

Oh dear I could see spiderweb everywhere in here and it's not even near Halloween!
I know I should write often, I mean, that's the real reason why I decided to start blogging.
*duhh!*
But few things are going around which keep me delaying my posts.
Oh yeah, I'm really good at procrastinating. If there's a subject on procrastination I'd probably get a big fat 'A' already!

Anyhow, as for now, I'm still not working. Well, still looking.
*ahem*
So while enjoying my "honeymoon period" at home, I have taken up few new hobbies just to kill the time.
And of them is cooking! I've always enjoyed cooking but as I have 10 mouths to feed at home, cooking at times can be quite challenging, you know.
I've to try to suit everyone's appetite -not too sweet (my sister is a diabetic), not too salty (my dad has HBP), not too spicy (for my brother and nephew), not too high in cholesterol (for EVERYONE!) and so by now you have probably figured out cooking might not be that easy-peasy job for me to begin with.
But in the end, when everyone's stomach is full and happy, that satisfaction feeling is just indescribable.
Sometimes after I've finished cooking, I don't even bother to eat anymore.
Too tired. I'd rather go upstairs sleeping.
(*_*)

As they say, sharing is caring, right?
I'd like to share with you one of the easiest meal to cook which everyone would surely love!
It's called Sheperd's Pie.
It's basically meat covered with mashed potatoes.
Yup, who doesn't like meat AND mashed potatoes?
You can always google the recipe but the way I do it, I just throw in whatever there is in the kitchen.

1. Boil few potatoes until it's soft enough that you can poke easily with a fork. Drain and mashed them. Put in some mayonnaise and a sprinkle of salt.
2. Drain your mince beef and at the same time heat up a bit of oil in a large pan. Throw in chopped garlic and shallot. After a minute, add diced carrots and tomatoes. After the carrots have soften, add in meat and sliced mushrooms.
3. Once meat is cooked, add a bit of water (or beef stock) and taste it to see if you need more salt and add pepper (white or black) and few herbs of your choice. I always love rosemary (for its delish smell!) and oregano (for its distinct taste) but always remember not to put in too much herbs as they may alter the whole taste of the recipe.
4. Spread over the sauteed meat in a baking dish and layer it with mashed potatoes. Do make sure the meat layer is higher than potatoes. Lightly run through the mashed potatoes with a fork to get a brownish top after baking is over.
5. Bake the dish at 200 degree Celcius for about 30-40minutes. Do remember that you need your sauteed meat to be a bit moist so it won't dry while it's baked.
6. Ta-dah! Ready to eat!

Easy-peasy huh?
I'm sorry I don't have measurements for each ingredients as I'd simply throw in whatever there is in the kitchen cabinet and fridge.
If there's no mushroom, I'll change it with peas.
Or if you don't eat meat, use fish like dory fillet instead.
If you're a vegetarian, use various beans -peas, chickpeas, kidney beans. Can also add in corn, broccoli, capsicum..basically any type of vegetables you like.

This is super easy to make and trust me, everyone loves it!
If you have super delicious recipes on Shepherd's Pie, please share it with me!

She has only become more and more beautiful these days.
Is it just me or she really takes after her daddy?
Everytime I look at her I'd see Kurt Cobain.
I'm not a big fan of Nirvana but there's something about their songs that's just too addictive.
You sort of wanting to bang your head at the same time Kurt did in their music videos.
Such a waste for him to die so young.
Well, all good things do come to an end, right?

a thank you note for a friend

If you have watched Korean dramas 'Boys Over Flowers', you must have learnt that soulmate may not be the one you end up marrying.
Well, if you're married with your soulmate, lucky you.
But if you have both soulmate and lifetime partner, I guess you're luckier.

I have a close friend I've known for 13 years now.
We went to the same school but different classes and we used to live so near to each other so we walked to school together everyday.
After school ended, we did not see each other that much although we tried to, every long holiday or during festive seasons.
Even these days we keep in touch by phone calls or sms. And we never really believed in connecting through Facebook. It just doesn't seem surreal if we rely communication through social networks.
We have different circle of friends and we keep it that way. Whenever anyone of us has partners, the other will back off a bit, not to interfere with the relationship.
Funnily, we truly understand that and we never complaint.
It is never a game to win anyone's attention.
There's no need to.

We can sit for hours talking about nothing.
We can sit in cinema not talking throughout the entire movie, just sharing a box of popcorn.
If sms-es are not replied, phone calls are made to make sure everything is okay.
Meals are shared without the needs to ask permission beforehand. I always put tomatoes away, knowing that they would be eaten.
And we never go Dutch. It's either my treat or the other person's.
If one of us did anything wrong, we would feel obliged to reprimand one another.
Anger does not exist in our dictionary.
Whenever I'm in deep trouble or feeling depressed, I know just who would listen.
Sometimes we only need someone to listen, if I need problem-solver I'd pay a therapist.

I never realized this until now, that I am very lucky to have someone I can proudly call my soulmate.
I don't have to wait to be married or taken.
Thinking back all the years we've been through, it's a beautiful journey that we have shared.
I am truly grateful.

We may be of different gender, religious and race but whenever I'm in needs, he's a friend, indeed.
I'm writing these few last lines with tears in the corners of my eyes,
tears of joy,
because my soulmate is getting married to the woman he truly loves.
I simply know he'll make her the happiest girl in the world.
We might not have the chance to go to cinema together anymore but I'll find a boyfriend as soon as possible so we can go on double dates.
=)

Congratulations, dear friend.
And thank you for everything.
Thank you, Wee Quin Son.

*a glimpse of the groom-to-be. God I used to hate that hair and now I missed it!*

Love can be a many splendid things and friendship is definitely one of them.

i wanna grow old with you

*pics: IMDb*

If there's ever an animated movie that makes me cry each time I watch it, it has got to be 'Up'.
The first 15mins is agonizing, just because I'd laugh and cry so bad.
Ellie & Carl shows that love can be unconditional.
If you haven't watched it, please do so, even only for the first 15mins.
You'll realize growing old would not be so bad after all,
as long as you have someone by your side to share all the tales of your wrinkles.
InsyaAllah.

a tinge of bliss

Ugh, that time of the month.
I hate period cramps.
I get very confused whether it's period cramp or a stomachache or whether I need to poo.
Not to mention those horrible emotional breakdown moments.
So, what is the best cure to tame my uterus?

Hot chocolate & marshmallows.
The feeling when the marshmallows melt in your mouth is just divine.

Sometimes, simple things in life make the most out of it.

Harper Seven Beckham

Not sure if it's the only daughter though, since Victoria and Beckham said they don't mind having another baby after Harper.
Well, with all that money, they can have a dozen kids!

What a name, huh?
She's adorable! She's so gonna be as stylish as her mommy!
Look, she already knows how to smize!

ain't about the cha-ching, cha-ching!

Gosh it's already halfway through Ramadhan.
Like I always say "Time surely flies like a G6!"

Hari Raya theme this year would be pink-purple.
Me, my parents and my sisters have already bought our new attires for the celebration way before Ramadhan started.
I usually buy only one new baju kurung every year, and would re-use my old baju kurungs.
Well, not that old actually as I'd only wear them for attending wedding ceremonies or family kenduri.
One thing for sure, I don't really splurge on this type of attires.
Simply because I definitely wouldn't wear them often and I just don't want to waste money on dry cleanings.
On top of that, I'm not a believer in dry cleaning, it just doesn't seem, hurm, clean. I prefer gentle hand washing.
However, I really believe that whatever you're wearing, it should be you wearing them.
And not the clothes wearing you.
You are supposed to shine, whatever you're wearing is just like a side dish -to spice up your food.
Think of it like this, if you swear by a piece of cloth, imagine if something spilled on it, your day would be ruined -because you really splurge on it and you depend on the cloth to make you shine.
Why would you let a piece of cloth ruin your day?
Sh*t happens, get over it.

The same goes with shoes, handbags and accessories.
I love shoes.
No. I'm madly in love with shoes.
There were times when I had already planned in mind what to wear, which shoes and handbags to match prior to going out.
Then after 2 hours of walking, some shoes do gave me blisters and I would just go and change to whatever shoes I have in my car.
Be it blue, green or even yellow and didn't match my whole attire at all.
After all, I bet people don't actually notice. If they ever did, they would forget it after a minute they walk pass me.
Sometimes we're too obsessed with how people would think of us when really, they do not.
Unless you're a celebrity, of course. Then you'd be on those gossip websites which we all have love-hate relationship with.

Anyway, as we're in the midst of Ramadhan, it's nice to remind 0urselves not to overspend or overeat or oversleep.
Over praying is fine, nonetheless.

Cheers!

It's the first day of Ramadhan today.
I am truly blessed to be able to berpuasa and bersolat terawih with my family this year.
Nothing is more beautiful than to spend this holy month with your loved ones.
I promised myself to embrace this month and asking God for his forgiveness for the sins I have committed in the past.
And to ask for His blessings for my family and for every decision I have made.
Selamat berpuasa.
Embrace this Ramadhan like it is your last and you'll appreciate it more.

summer holidays in Seoul! (Day 1&2)

*LCCT, Sepang before boarding*

Who doesn't love holidays?
Even a short one.

I had the opportunity to visit Seoul on the 27th June - 4th July as my dad was invited to visit a tansformers manufacturing factory in an area 2 hours drive away from Seoul.
The company that invited my dad decided to stay in Artnouveau City, Gangnam which according to my dear friend, Ruhil Nadiah, is like the Upper East Side of New York.
In other words, the place where only rich people can afford to live.
Well, I've to agree with that part.
The hotel that we stayed at was magnificent!
There's a huge dressroom, a stove, microwave, plasma TV and even a washing machine!
A washing machine in a hotel room!
That was definitely a first for me and so me and my sisters went very 'jakun'.
We didn't use it, by the way, because we simply didn't understand the Korean instructions. Plus, detergent wasn't provided.

*spotted at the airport. mommy&daugther wearing the same boots. super cute!*

*in front of the hotel*
*super comfy hotel beds*
*huge sofa*
*washing machine, microwave, rice cooker- in a hotel room!**the biggest shower head i've ever seen!*

We arrived at Incheon International Airport at around 10pm. Seoul is only an hour ahead of Malaysia. The we ate Korean vegetarian dinner and our guide from the factory, Max, met us there. Such a really nice guy, can speak English quite fluent.
It took us at least an hour to the hotel from airport. It was quite cold, probably because it rained all day before we arrived, according to Max.

The second day started with a tour around Seoul. The factory hired us a tour guide, Sophie, whom can really speak fluent English. She sounded almost American to me.
The first stop was at Seoul Namsan Traditional Centre where various traditional performances are held on weekends. They have a huge stage and tourists can also participate in tea ceremony as well as wearing 'Hanbok', which is the Korean traditional costumes.
As we're with a tour package, we didn't really have time to participate or watch any activities.
Then we headed to a huge temple, the centre of Zen Buddhism in Korea. When I said it's huge, I really meant that. The Buddhist statues are humongous and probably covered with gold!
The third place visited was the Cheongwadae Sarangchae, a history centre nearby the official Korean Presidential site or The Blue House as Korean calls it. Here tourists can learn a lot about the history of South Korea- the emperors, idealists, technologies, arts, sports, Han River, festivals, traditional food & costumes and everything Korean! Every description is also written in English so no worries about language barriers.
Next in plan was a Ginseng Center where we learnt a lot about Korean ginseng, which is claimed to be the best among Chinese and American ginseng. The assistant explained to us about the types of ginseng, how and where it's grown and how to consume it. It was very informative and interesting that my dad ended up buying 2 boxes of ginseng!
At this point we were all already very very hungry and needed to recharge our energy. Sophie bought us to Korean Restaurant (yes, that's actually the name of the restaurant!) and treated us to a vegetarian dish called 'Hansik', a Korean traditional food. The rice is cooked in a hot pot and covered with various vegetables and an egg. As usual, it is served with kimchi, pickled radish and soybean paste.
I'm already hooked with kimchi!
Now that lunch's over, we hopped onto the tour bus and Sophie told us a brief history of the next destinations- The Changdeok Palace or Changdeokgung. And it really proves its name, the palace is SUPER huge! If you've watched Korean dramas about the old kings then you'll be able to imagine the whole palace. It is massive!
There are at least 5 different palaces in Seoul but according to Sophie, they are all almost the same so it's already sufficient for tourists to visit one of them. However, Gyeongbukgung is the main palace and provides more cultural activities to tourists. Unfortunately, it is closed every Tuesday, thus, the reason we went to Changdeokgung instead of Gyeongbukgung.
The last places were among the shopping heavens! We first visited Insa-dong where tourists can look up for souvenirs like keychains, bookmarks, T-shirts and even socks of your favourite Korean artists! As usual, there's a need to bargain and you do have to walk around first to get lower price. Don't worry about language barriers, they can speak fair English.
Then we went to Namdaemun, the largest market with everything- clothes, food, fruits, shoes, handbags, hair accessories..almost anything you can imagine! It is really huge, too huge in fact, and crowded as well. We didn't have much time, given only 40mins (girls can NEVER shop in just 40mins!) before the tour ended and the tour bus dropped us back at the hotel at around 7pm.

The most interesting fact about Seoul to me would be the location of the tourist attractions. The old palace and the temple are located right in the middle of the busy city! For example, next to the temple is a huge tall modern building and the reason behind this is to simply preserve the original site.
Now I truly understand what the commotion was about when our authority wanted to demolish Penjara Pudu a couple of years ago.
=(

Anyway, I've to admit that tour package is really helpful when you're in a country where English is only one of the foreign languages they learn. Nevertheless, the downside of taking tour package is that everything has to be in a rush and there's a limit to the places.
And it's expensive! Around 80,000Won or RM240 per head for 1 day tour.
Hence, do learn more about the subway system before coming to Seoul as it's cheaper, super easy and convenient.
And don't forget to get yourself Seoul tourist maps and you can go anywhere in Seoul without the needs to hire a tour guide.
