Horoscopes

My family subscribes to 'The Star' everyday.
So every morning when I'm home, after my breakfast (sometimes before), I would flip over the newspaper.
Most of the time I read headlines. Often I scan the whole articles. But I never miss the cartoon section and daily horoscopes.
My favourite comic strip would be between 'Zits' and 'Calvin and Hobbes'.
=)

And I never miss the daily horoscopes section.
I am fascinated by horoscopes.
Not that I really believe it, as a Muslim, I shouldn't be.
But you know, just for the fun of it.
Surprisingly, I often find it either true or related at most time.
Creepy? Coincidence?

I am a Libran.
And it is always said that Librans are the most indecisive people.
I amazingly believe that!
I can be painstakingly indecisive okay!
Over restaurant menu. Over which shoes to wear. Between Streamyx and broadband (I have both at home). I even have difficulties over Spritzer or Bleu!
I am aware that it's ridiculous but it's so true I just couldn't help it.
Maybe there's truth about horoscopes.
Maybe.
Nobody knows.

Anyway, apart from 'The Star', I also read horoscopes from Yahoo!
Like I said, I don't quite believe it but sometimes it turns out to be true!
Like my horoscope reading on love today is,

"You have plenty of time to find just the right person, so remind yourself of that even if a parent or a sibling starts getting on your case. The truth is, you're enjoying yourself. When you're ready to go long-term, you will."

First of all, I pray hard that my parents won't set me up with anybody because it happened before and it was really weird because I grew up with these guys and they're like my brothers so to suddenly switch to lovey-dovey feeling is plainly a turn off.
Secondly, I also hope my bro won't set me up too. Yeah, it happened before. Been there. Done that. Hate it. Imagine your bro asking you to have a day out with everyone. So not happening again.
Thirdly, I am enjoying myself. I went out for breakfast with a friend at Rajus yesterday and she asked me whether I have anyone new. Well, as much as I want to have a shoulder to lean on, I haven't met any man worth my heart yet. Instead, I asked her to find me someone. But then we decided to go on holidays together, hoping to meet a lonely stranger. My dear friend, that sounds too desperate.
hahahaha...
But we really love the idea of going on holidays.
Referring to the last line of my Yahoo! horoscope reading today, it's true. Whenever I'm ready, if the time is right, I'll definitely love to love again.
Love is a wonderful feeling.
A feeling worth waiting for the one.
=)

Thought of the Day

"Have faith in God; God has faith in you."
Edwin Louis Cole, author.

I love this quote because it's very true.
I'm not a saint but as a Muslim, I believe in ALLAH.
I may not be a perfect practitioner but I always have faith in 'doa'.
Some have come true, some need me to pray harder.
Remember the rule of attraction? It's a way of 'doa', too.
The more we 'doa' and believe, the easier for it to happen.
InsyaAllah.

Weird Obsession

Okay.
IamcurrentlyobsessedwithAdamLambert.
I was trying to say it out as fast as I could.

And indeed, it's a weird obsession.
I have never imagined myself drooling over gays because I really think it's weird.
But I think he's one major-sexy gay!
I have nothing against gays/lesbians, FYI. They have their own reasonings. I don't want to be judgmental because I'm not a saint. I have gay friends and I adore their brutal honesty.

AL.
OMG I'm obsessed with him.
Daaaayyyymmmm!
It's not NickCarter/ShaneFilan type of obsession you know.
Believe me when I say NickCarter was my first love and ShaneFilan was my ultimate crush.
Well, I was very very young and quite stoopid to think that these men would come over to Malaysia and then bumped into me during one of their shopping malls tours and eventually fall in love with me.
Muahahahahahahahaha!
Oh I just love those periods! I was a dreamer (still am! AL!!!). One happy dreamer. LOL!

I truly think it's great to have funny moments in your life that you can laugh your as* out everytime you think about those memories.
I mean, some people live for the day.
I don't.
I love my past and my favourite quote is, experience is always the best teacher.
Whether it is good experience or a bad one.
To be quite honest, I rarely regret things.
Because it's always my call, my choice.
And I just need to live with it. And go through it.
I went through a break-up recently which I don't really talk about at most time. Friends were shocked and asked me THE question "Who asked for it?"
Honestly, I don't really care who wanted the breakup.
Everybody has their own reasonings and whether they have the guts to spill it out or only type it over via SMS, it's still their reasonings and who am I to hold a knife against their throat just to make them talk?

GOD always has HIS reasonings too.
And I am in bliss, I believe I am.
I can now listen to the Backstreet Boys or Westlife while driving in MY car.
I can now go shopping and walk for 4 hours before going back to the first boutique without any whining.
But of course, at times, I do miss talking to someone who can just listen without having to give feedback. Or someone to back me up at any time. Or someone I can depend upon.
Anyhow, people come and go.
Life comes and goes.
But the memories stay close to heart.

Back to my obsession, I google-d his pictures and wallah!
Came out his pictures kissing another guy! (I sound like a jealous lunatic!)
Here's some of my favourite pics =)

*adorable!*I like his smile the most! That sexy cynical smirk.

Remember when I wrote HERE about me having a thing over men in suit? =))

*mabuk kepayang*

I am obsessed with million things!
Shoes, handbags, Kimora Lee Simmons, The Godfather, Carl's Jr, my car Betty, sappy songs. Among other things.
So please. Bear with me.

Alexander McQueen

For all of you who don't know,
Alexander McQueen is not an actor/model/footballer/my dad.
Well, if he is my dad, I would have absolutely nothing to complain about.
Anyway, Alexander McQueen, in my own definition, is an audacious artist whose mind is flooded with wild imagination that will always leave people (especially me!) in awe whenever he strikes his sketching pencil on a blank paper that later turns in masterpieces.
What a long definition, huh?

Hailed from London, born Lee Alexander McQueen enjoys scuba diving during his free time.
His first memory of fashion was when he drew pictures of dresses for his three sisters. So the kid liked drawing. No biggie.
Right...sounds like a normal guy, eh?
Except that he has won 'British Designer of the Year' for four years between 1996-2003 and has worked with Givenchy before, he's not so typical.
Since the last few years, his has transferred his 'artwork' on shoes and the result is insanely amazing!
Don't believe me?
See them yourself!

From a common pair...
To this unique butterfly piece...
And this gorgeous detailed boots...
And to these...!!!

But these shoes below are the ultimate eye-catcher for me! These babies are to die for!

They are called 'Alien', 'Armadillo' and other quirky names that can never equally define them.
It's 10 inches high! 10 inches! 10-bloody-inches!
How on earth would anyone wear them?
I wonder how my chubby feet would bend in these pairs.
And it was reported that runaway models refused to wear them for catwalk because they're worried they might fall down!
Hard to digest that, huh?
I have seen only one human being who could pull this off.
Lady Gaga!
If you watch her amazing 'Bad Romance' video, you will see her strutting two of McQueen's crazy heels! I go ga-ga everytime I see the video!

Oh, I know you'll say "Well, I can wear and sit in the shoes, too. What's the big deal?"

Well no, she didn't sit only. She actually walked in that shoes. She paraded those 'Alien' shoes.

And look at the advertisement for the collection, exquisite and risque!!

Love the shoes. Love the snakes. Love the model, Raquel Zimmermann. Love the colours.

This is the most exciting advertisement I've ever seen in my entire 24-years of life!

*Can you spot the shoes darlings? Shot by the talented Nick Knight*

I would really love and are thankful if I were given a chance of wearing them.Even if it's only for one minute. Seriously.McQueen doesn't plan to sell them on retail though. If they ever do, I can't wait to see the price tag! Must cost a fortune!

Things people do for fashion.

Utterly mesmerizing.

Thought of the Day

"Freedom, time and private jets. Luxury for me is also not needing to look at the credit card slip when you sign."

-Karl Lagerfeld, UK's OK Magazine.

So very true. May fav quote up to date!
Mr. Karl is not only great in designing but with words too.
I just adore you.

Movie: Dr. Parnassus.

Now this is one movie that needs real good actors to make it work
Seriously.
Because, quoting my Baby Sis Amy "if not because of the actors and popcorns, I would sleep half way through it."
I have to agree with her.

The storyline is ever so simple, to be honest.
Dr. P (as Shima calls it) makes a deal with the Devil in order to become younger again to marry a lady.
The price? If he ever bears a child, he/she will be the devil's when he/she reaches 16 years old.
To save his gorgeous daughter, he makes a deal with Mr. D again.
You see, he has this imaginarium, where people who walk into it will be in the world of their ultimate imagination.
For example, a rich lady's ultimate imagination is full of shoes and pearls and handbags and a gigolo. Really. It's in the movie.
Anyway, people who choose the wrong direction or those who go beyond their imagination will end up dead.
The deal between Mr. P & Mr. D to save Mr. P's daughter is to make sure 5 people who walk in come out safe and sound. If the first 5 die, Mr. D wins and gets the daughter.
Confused already?
You'll get even more confused when you watch it for the first time.

Like I (and my sis) said, the actors made it a one of a kind movie.
First of all, the history behind the making.
Heath Ledger (RIP) didn't manage to finish shooting the film before his days ended.
So the ever so gushing Johnny Depp offered to take over. So did Jude Law and Colin Farrell.
The greatest thing? The money these three-some gets will go into Mathilde's fund, she is the daughter of Heath.
Adorable, isn't it?
And even though these three are different in every way, they managed to suit Heath's acting style.
The way he talked, laughed, shouted.
Lovely. And talented.
Heath was a real talent. I'm sure he could be the next Johnny Depp if he's still alive.
Well, good things always come to an end.
Indeed.

In short, if you want to watch Heath's final brilliant acting and movie, watch it.
If fantasy is too much for your entertainment that you don't want to think too much, please please please don't waste your penny.
Watch 'Avatar' instead. Or 'Chipmunks'.

*There's this scene when Heath introduced Dr. P for the first time. I swear he sounds like The Joker. Creepy.*

Movie: Sherlock Holmes.

This movie really surprised me.
Because it's really good.

I like everything about it.
The era. The costumes. The horses. The buildings. The accent. The actors. The witty lines.
And it's funny. And not to forget Guy Ritchie directed it. So yeah, he surprised me.
I laughed from the beginning until the end of the movie, and my jaw often dropped everytime Holmes explained the logic behind everything. And I would go, like, wow I've never thought of that.
Any movie that makes me think is a great movie to me personally.

Robert Downey, Jr. is one fine actor. His facial expression works all the time, especially when he tries to 'look' innocent and not dumb.
And his intonation is flawless, I would say.

I'm not really a fan of Sherlock Holmes series, nor Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
And I certainly haven't heard about Dr. Watson until I watched this movie.
If I were to choose my favourite in this movie, I'll go with Dr. Watson.
Jude Law is incredibly funny when he tries to be serious.
In a good way funny. I totally love it.
Despite the fact that he looks old in the movie.
Old. But hot.

Anyway, my favourite line/scene would be when Holmes invites Watson and his lady to his brother's country estate which Watson doesn't allow Holmes to join them and Holmes says
"Why wouldn't I be invited to my own brother's country estate, now you're not making any sense Waston!"
Hahaha that was totally funny! Even Watson can't add anything to that because it's so true!
And Watson is always the one with 'sense' than Holmes.
Holmes can even hang himself for experiment, how nuts is that?!

This movie is definitely worth my RM10.
*smile*

*I watched Avatar & Sherlock Holmes on the same day. Sort of movie marathon. Definitely good choices of movies. Love 'em. Just love 'em.*

Movie: Avatar

I never am a movie freak.
I always choose what I want to watch.
I make sure it's worth my RM10 (or more!) for the tickets whenever I visit the theater.
And of course, my 2 hours sitting in the dark hall.

Anyway, I've been anticipating 'Avatar' since last year. For a couple of reasons.
First, the director is James Cameron.
Straight from that I knew his movie is going to be big & fantastic.
Second, it's a fantasy movie.
I always adore fantasy movie because everything is beyond anyone's imagination. And that's a beautiful thing.
Third, Sam Worthington. Enough said.

I only have one word for Avatar.
Beautiful.
I was mesmerized. Planet Pandora is just so perfect.
It has hanging mountain. Birds & horses that sort of connects to you from the inside when you ride on them. It has sacred buds that look like tiny flying jellyfish.
Hey, it's fantasy. So it's never ridiculous.
Oh, and the blue people, despite they look too blue, amazed me just because everyone looks different.
And Sam Worthington is indeed a hottie in blue. haha...
He's an Aussie. And Aussie always has something mysterious about them that you just keep going on and on with them, you know. Well, at least to me.
Hugh Jackman. Keith Urban. Heath Ledger (RIP). Nicole Kidman.

The one great thing about this movie is the message it tries to send to the audience.
Neytiri's mother said she can't teach human because men/human/us are "too full of ourselves".
I couldn't agree more.
It has always been like that and will always be unless we wake up one day and just be thankful.
We would never have enough money. Or bungalows. Or expensive cars.
We always want to get more and more money.
To buy bigger houses. On top of the hills. Or by the beach. Or next to The Gardens.
And we will always eyes on Merc, BMW, Porsche, Bentley when we already have good & use-able national cars.
We are always selfish.
We hardly recycle even though we know it can definitely save mother earth from heating up.
Do pardon me if you feel like objecting my words.
And when I said 'we', yours truly is included as well.
I don't really recycle and I am ashamed of the fact.
Because it's a really simple act. Just separate your garbage. And I still hardly do it. Unless I walk by the colourful bins.
And it irks me like hell when people throw things out from their cars onto the road.
Whether it's chewing gum or cigarette butts or candy wrappers.
Ugh, don't let me start on these people.

So yeah. Please go watch 'Avatar'.
Full of great action, emotion and gorgeous animations.

Confession of A Lusty Woman. Sort of...

*David Beckham*

I have a confession to make.
I am a total sucker for men in suit.
I don't play-play here. I'm so dead serious.
Even if Marc Jacobs a gay, he totally looks so hot in suit.
And look at Becks! Oh my.
I literally gasped when I saw this pic on CocoPerez.
And I was left speechless.

And Josh Duhamel or 'Danny' in the TV show 'Las Vegas',
he's just....hurm..well....he left me speechless too.
I swear for the first few series I watched the show only for the sake of watching him.
And since when does security officer look so hot???

And you know 'Sonny' from 'The Godfather'?
Or James Caan who used to play 'the boss' in 'Las Vegas'?
When I watched the movie about a decade ago with my daddy and brothers,
I was hooked. By him.
And I've watched the movie, like, hundreds of time now!
And he always looks good.

Trust me. I can go on and on about men in suit.
Johnny Depp with his slushy look. Taylor Lautner. Jude Law. Zac Efron.
Even Dato' Shah Rukh Khan.
Told you I'm a sucker when it comes to suit. And yeah, men.

Interview. Class.

The interview went quite well, I would say.
*smile*
Upon entering the office, I felt serenity. Like seriously.
I was nervous, but I was really happy just to be there.
It's definitely a dream place to work at.
Oh I really hope to get a position there. I even told the interviewer just offer my any position, I'll take it! haha!
And my interviewer is a very nice, soft-spoken and lovely lady.
I was so nervous at first, but she really calmed me down.
Talking about serenity. hehe..
I already felt like having a conversation with my boss! =)
But I don't want to put too high hopes, nanti kecewa pula bila tak dapat.
But it was the best job interview of my life so far!
Because for once I really looked forward for the interview and not just to get a mere job so I can pay my utilities.
I can definitely work there in my 4-inch heels!

*still keeping mum about the job. don't want to jinx it*

The in the evening at 6pm, my 3rd sem M.Ed TESL class started.
Ugh..
Me and K.Mirs were lepak-ing at PakLi sec7 before class and we had to drag our feet to our cars.
I can so totally feel those kids upon starting school again.
Can't wait to complete my M.Ed TESL.

I've Got An Interview Tomorrow!

I think I have never mentioned before that I'm job hunting at the moment.
I quit my position as English lecturer at a private college about a month ago.
I want to pursue my true passion.
I have been teaching for 2years now and all this while I thought I am destined to be a lecturer, as I'm a TESL grad but I realised that I may not enjoy teaching after all.
Well don't get me wrong. I love assisting people, and teaching is all about that. But teaching requires enormous amount of both patience and passion.
I can be so very patient.
It's passion that I'm lack off.
My true passion? Is to write.
Seriously. I even think of getting a degree in journalism after my TESL Masters study.
But I believe in taking baby steps. I believe nothing is more vital than learning by experience.

Anyway, yes, I have an interview tomorrow after lunch hour!
I won't be telling who, what, where or how because I'm worried I might jinx it!
Not really superstitious but hey, I'd rather not take that chance!
I really hope everything will go well.
I'm really excited, but not too over-confident.
I can't wait to meet fabulous people who has been inspiring me all this while!
I'm thinking of what shirt to wear, which pants, which heels, handbags! God I don't think I'm able to sleep tonight! Whatever it is, I need my beauty sleep the most this time.
OMG I'm nervous!
Ya Allah, please bless me. Berikan ku ketenangan dan kemudahan. And thank you for giving me this opportunity.

Goodbye 2009! Hello 2010!

Happy New Year peeps.
May GOD bless you throughout the year with happiness and success.

I don't make resolutions.
Simply because I'm a Libra and Libran is born to be indecisive.
I may want to lose weight in 2010 and by 7Jan10 I'd be telling myself "What the hell. I'm not fat. I'm healthy. No, I'm hot!"
Then in February I may want to start jogging again.
So no new year resolution for me.
I don't need it.
Because it's just another year for me. Another year full of experience that would soon become my guru for life.
I'll take the road less taken. And may the mosquitoes join me.
May the force be with us.
